We are now also building luxury single-level homes in Arizona for clients who want a second home or want to relocate.

Hammer Custom Homes has been building custom and semi-custom homes in Colorado Springs and surrounding areas since 1993. With decades of experience, our focus has always been on collaboration, clear communication, and bringing each client’s vision to life in a way that feels personal, empowering, and well-guided from start to finish.
As our own lives evolved, so did our understanding of how people want to live in their homes. That perspective led to our Forever Homes concept, designs that emphasize comfort, accessibility, and thoughtful layouts without sacrificing quality, style, or craftsmanship. Features such as main-level living, open floor plans, wide doorways, and zero-entry thresholds are integrated naturally into the design, not added as an afterthought. We are experienced with ADA-friendly and wheelchair accessible homes, and many of our builds are fully accessible while still feeling warm and livable.
Our client-centered approach is built on transparency and trust. We use a fixed price structure to eliminate surprises, and we place strong emphasis on clear budgets and realistic timelines. In 1994, Dave Hammer was shot during a robbery and left paralyzed from the chest down. In a single moment, everything changed. What did not change was his drive, his work ethic, or his belief in building a life through skill, integrity, and perseverance. From a wheelchair, Dave rebuilt not only his own future, but a company grounded in resilience, craftsmanship, and doing things the right way even when the road is hard.
